Brief Synopsis of what High School and Middle School talked about: 

This week we had Chelsea Damante bringing the Word for High School and Desiree Baroni bringing the Word for Middle School.  Both touched on the word believe, which helps us tell the Gospel story.  Here are some notes from the message.

• What does believe mean? – to accept something that is true.
  • How much do you believe that Jesus is real?
  • You live by the things that you believe in.  You can act this out by telling people about Jesus, praying, etc.
• What about having doubts?  Do we still believe if we’ve had doubts.  Yes!- you need to ask questions in order to grow.
  • How do you grow and get some answers?
    • 1. Pray about it
    • 2. Talk about it- ask questions to those people you trust.
    • 3. Read your Bible
  • Romans 10:9-11
  • Remember those times where God showed up.  Those times you feel super close to God. (ex. camp, missions trips) Then you can go back and reference these times and know that God is real and you believe.
  • John 10:10
  • God uses those high moments and those low moments in our lives to shape us.
• How do you actually believe in God?
  • Are you listening to Him?
  • Are you sharing Jesus with others? (action and using your words)
  • Seek out those answers of doubt in your life (pray, talk about it, read your bible)
  • 1 John 5:5

Follow Up Questions: 

1. Discuss how you share Jesus with others.  How do you do that with your actions and how do you do that with your words?
2. Read 1 John 5:5.  What does this mean to you?  What does it mean to overcome this world?
3. Take time to pray together.  Pray for God to continue to reveal his character to you and give you open ears to hear his leading.
